WORKSHOPS
ARRAN SONGWRITING WEEKEND
21st to 23rd Nov 2025
Come to the beautiful Isle of Arran for a two day songwriting workshop with singer songwriter Findlay Napier. The workshop will be held in the Ormidale Hotel, Brodick which is a short walk from Brodick ferry terminal.
Places are limited to 12. Tickets £150
Participants will begin with a blank page and by the end of the weekend will have finished at least one song. Each part of the songwriting precess will be broken into easily achievable tasks. Findlay will be on hand to offer assistance. Along the way we'll look at generating ideas, creating lyrics, song form, chord choice, melody and editing.
This workshop is especially useful for writers who have trouble finishing songs or struggle with writers block. We will be working on creating new songs but the processes we'll use can be applied to your older material in your own time.
Some songwriting workshops ask participants to give a share of their PRS to the course leader. That will NOT be happening on this course. Whatever you write on this course is your own.
Get your ticket and lots of extra info, including accommodation deal, on the WeGotTickets site.

ARRAN COMEDY WORKSHOP
This is a two day comedy course for ANYONE who wants to feel more creative, more confident, or rediscover their ability to play and collaborate.
The workshops use skills and exercises from the worlds of stand-up and improv to help hone these attributes and can be applied to any walk of life.
Over these two days you'll be amazed to discover the fun you can have embracing the silly side of life and following the fun.
Whether you wish to apply these skills to a career in performance or just revive your mindset and inject new ways to think into your life-comedy can help! It's also very useful for musicians who want to feel more comfortable chatting between the songs in their sets.
WHERE AND WHEN ARE THE WORKSHOPS
Two days of workshops 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday then an easy going performance hosted by Paul "Silky" White in the Ormidale Glasshouse.

Fred MacAulay, BBC Radio Scotland “One of the best Set Lists I saw the whole of last year. Absolutely brilliant. Great improviser, wonderful stand-up, beautiful singer”
“honest, heartfelt, slickly-delivered, irresistible and, yes, occasionally disturbing stand-up.. There are plenty of laughs along the way from this accomplished joke-smith. Relatable, warm and, crucially, very funny, his stand-up stands on its own.” Suzanne Black, The List
“Not just a very funny and engaging comedian but someone who understands comedy and encourages other performers too. Lovely man!”
